Half Black Soul (The Alexa Montgomery Saga, #2)
Hot damn that was good!! We pick up with Alexa on the road in search for the prison that has her mother. She is also battling with herself. Her darker side, her "monster" or warrior side is threatening to take over and it was interesting to see her wrestle with that side of herself. Eventually Kayden joins her and... damn. That Kayden makes me drool. Funny part is he hardly says anything. There is this connection between the two that comes across very clearly. I love that Alexa has a possessive edge and calls him "her Libra". It's not often that we meet a female character that is possessive without also being portrayed as obsessed. Both go hand in hand and walk a fine line but they're not the same in my book.
The other great part was getting to know Nelly better. Half the book is in her POV and it was nice to see just how strong she really is. Some serious shit is stirring and I'm itching to pick up book 3.
This has been one of those series that has taken me by surprise. Not at all what I expected.
